Two vertical ads for Acrisure, shot in one day at a private home in Westlake Village, California.

Performance Video Built for the Phone

Acrisure engaged C&I Studios for a vertical video production campaign aimed at two very different audiences. Our crew took over a private residence in Westlake Village, California, built a single controlled interview environment inside the living room, and shot both spots in one day on RED. Jordan Cohen, Director of Business Development, delivered each script straight to camera against a set dressed to read as a home rather than a studio. Both films were finished at 1080 by 1920 with burned in captions and Acrisure brand titling, composed for the feed rather than cropped down to it.

A Pitch Aimed at Team Leaders

The first spot speaks directly to real estate team leaders and high volume agents, the audience Acrisure wanted to reach with an ownership offer rather than a product pitch. Jordan Cohen carries the entire piece on camera, which meant the room had to hold up under one unbroken look for the length of the read.

We lit the living room as a practical set, using the existing window light as the key and shaping the fill so the chair and the wall behind it stayed separated without reading as lit. A teleprompter sat just off the lens axis so the delivery stayed conversational and the eyeline never drifted.

Framing was built for a phone from the start. The composition holds Jordan in the upper two thirds of a 1080 by 1920 frame, leaving clean space at the bottom for the caption bar and the closing call to action. Nothing in this cut is a crop of a horizontal master. The camera was set up vertical, the room was dressed for a vertical frame, and the edit was cut to the format it would actually be watched in.

The Second Script, The Same Room

The second spot targets business owners weighing group health coverage, and it runs nearly twice as long. Rather than rebuild for a different look, we shot it back to back with the first on the same setup, which is the practical argument for booking a day like this as one production instead of two.

The longer runtime gave the edit room to breathe. Cutaway inserts break the read at the points where the script turns from problem to solution, and the caption treatment carries the key phrases so the piece still lands with the sound off, which is how most of this audience will see it.

Both films close on the same phone number and the same brand lockup, so the campaign reads as one voice across two very different buyer conversations. Delivering two finished spots from a single day at one location is where a production like this earns its budget back.

Building a Set Inside a Home

Shooting inside a residence means every department works around furniture that cannot move and windows that cannot be blacked out. Moving blankets came in to kill the floor reflection, the sound cart lived just outside frame, and the monitor was placed where the client could watch a take without standing in the light.

Brandon Baker ran DIT on set, pulling just under 94 gigabytes of material off the RED and building proxies on location so the edit could begin before the gear was packed.

Start Your Next Campaign

A single controlled day at one location produced two finished spots, each cut for the platform it was made for. That is the efficiency worth planning for when a campaign has to speak to more than one audience.

Send over the audience and the deliverables and we will plan the day to cover both.
