C&I Studios film production approach
Our Approach
Story First

Every film production starts with the story. Before we choose a camera or scout a location, we sit with the script, the treatment, or the concept and ask one question: what does this story need to feel real? That answer drives every creative and technical decision from pre-production through final delivery.

C&I Studios has produced content for NBC, Nike, NFL, Coca-Cola, Ford, Apple, NBA, and Mattel alongside independent filmmakers and documentary subjects. Whether it is a narrative feature, a documentary series, or cinematic branded content, we bring the same standard of craft because the work is what speaks.

As a full-service film production company, we handle everything in-house: development, casting, location scouting, cinematography on ARRI and RED cameras, editing, color grading in DaVinci Resolve, sound design, and delivery for every platform and format. No subcontracting. One team from first draft to final master.

FAQ
Film Production Questions
How much does film production cost?

Film production budgets range widely depending on scope. A short film or branded piece might start around $10,000 while a full narrative feature can exceed $2 million. Every project is custom scoped after an initial conversation about your goals, timeline, and distribution plan. We build transparent budgets with no hidden fees.

What is the film production process?

Our process follows five phases: development (script, concept, creative direction), pre-production (casting, locations, scheduling, crew), production (principal photography, on-set direction), post-production (editorial, color, sound, VFX), and delivery (encoding, mastering, platform-specific outputs). Each phase has clear milestones and client approval checkpoints.

Do you produce documentaries?

Yes. We produce feature-length and series documentaries from initial research and subject access through production, archival licensing, and post-production finishing. Our documentary work includes The Eagle Obsession and projects for NBC, covering everything from intimate character studies to large-scale event coverage.

Can you help with film financing and grants?

We assist with state and federal tax incentive applications, grant submissions, and investor packaging. Our team has experience with California tax credits, Florida entertainment rebates, and independent film grants. We can prepare pitch decks, financial projections, and production packages that meet institutional standards.

What cameras and equipment do you use?

Our camera department includes ARRI, RED, Sony, and Canon cinema cameras matched to each project's visual requirements. We maintain a full grip and electric inventory, professional lighting packages, wireless monitoring, and audio recording systems. All equipment is housed in our 30,000 sq ft Los Angeles facility.

Can you produce films outside of Los Angeles?

Yes. In addition to our Los Angeles headquarters, we operate offices in Fort Lauderdale and New York City with production crews in every major market. We have produced projects internationally and can mobilize a full crew to any location. Our nationwide contractor network means we always have local talent available.
