For Niko
A narrative short starring Alexandra Shipp, made with Amazon Studios and Macro and produced start to finish by C&I Studios. We built the sets in our Los Angeles studio, shot it over four days, and it went on to play the HollyShorts Film Festival.
Behind the Film
From First Frame to Final Cut
For Niko came together as a partnership between C&I Studios, Amazon Studios, and Macro, the studio behind One of Them Days and GOAT. We produced the whole film ourselves, starting by building the sets by hand inside our Los Angeles studio. The shoot ran across four days with Alexandra Shipp in the lead, and from there we carried it through the edit, color, and sound to a finished cut that went on to screen at the HollyShorts Film Festival.
Preproduction
Building the World
This one started with the build. Before we rolled a single frame, our team designed and constructed the sets inside our Los Angeles studio, broke down the script, and mapped out the four day shoot. Building it ourselves meant we owned the look and could keep the whole thing on schedule.

Cameras Rolling
Then came the shoot. We spent four days on the sets we had just built, with Alexandra Shipp leading the cast and a full C&I crew running the floor. Once we wrapped, we cut it, colored it, and mixed the sound ourselves. The finished short went on to play at HollyShorts.
