C&I Studios has worked with AIDS Healthcare Foundation across several projects, in South Florida and abroad. Each one asked for something different: a full day of fundraiser coverage on Fort Lauderdale beach, field documentation of the foundation’s work in Haiti, and a 360 walkthrough of a Broward County wellness center.

That range is the point. A charity walk needs drone coverage and live performance capture. A field shoot in Haiti needs a small crew that can move and the judgment to know when to keep rolling. A clinic tour needs a camera that takes in the whole room at once. C&I Studios scoped, crewed, and shot all three.

The Florida AIDS Walk

The foundation’s annual walk and concert on Fort Lauderdale beach, covered from the air, the stage, and the ground.

The People Behind the Walk

The main film was built around the participants rather than the program. Speakers describe living with HIV in their own words, walkers move through the route they came to finish, and the camera stays with them long enough for it to register.

Coverage ran from the morning build on the beach through to the candlelight portion after dark. That meant matching daylight aerial work to available light on a wet street at night, and holding one consistent look across both.

Restraint carried the edit. The material is handled plainly, without scoring the emotion, so the audience meets the subject instead of a treatment of it.

The People Behind the Walk

Flo Rida on the Beach Stage

Flo Rida headlined the concert that closes the walk. Camera teams covered the set from the photo pit, from the wings, and from backstage, while a drone held the wide as the crowd packed in toward the stage. Running several positions across one set list gives the edit the coverage it needs to cut on the music rather than wait on it.

A festival stage in open daylight is an exposure problem before it is anything else. The performers sit under a deep canopy while the crowd behind them is in full sun, a range no single setting covers. We exposed for the stage and let the beach stay bright, so faces stay readable in the close work without losing the scale of the crowd behind them.

The Event at Full Capacity

Drone coverage answers the question a ground camera cannot. The beach filled from the stage to the shoreline, the welcome arch, the route along the sand, and the size of the turnout, all held in single continuous moves rather than assembled from cuts. These are the frames that establish the event, and they are the reason the finished pieces open where they do.

Flying a public beach on an event day is a planning exercise as much as a piloting one. The route runs along an active road, the crowd is dense, and the stage carries rigging that dictates where a drone can safely hold. We planned the passes around those constraints so the reveals land on purpose rather than in the edit.

The Work in Haiti

On the Ground in Haiti

AIDS Healthcare Foundation asked C&I Studios to document its work in Haiti, so a crew traveled there and shot it as it happened. Nothing staged, no second takes.

The film opens above the hillside at golden hour, then moves down into the streets. At the center of it is an AHF Haiti outreach event: branded tents, and a line of people stretching back and waiting their turn. The camera stays at eye level and lets faces carry the story. Most of the people who look into the lens are children.

Behind the Camera in Haiti

The second film is the shoot itself, cut in black and white. An operator working handheld in the heat, a stills photographer surrounded by kids who all want to see the back of her camera, and the crew pulling a packed room together for one group shot.

It is the least polished footage on this page, and it is the most honest.

Nonprofit Video Production for AIDS Healthcare Foundation

C&I Studios has handled nonprofit video production for AIDS Healthcare Foundation across several separate projects, in South Florida and outside the United States. The three on this page were commissioned at different times for different audiences, and none of them could have been shot to the same plan. A fundraiser on a public beach, a field trip to Haiti, and a 360 capture of a clinic are three different disciplines that happen to share one client.

Event Coverage at the Florida AIDS Walk

The Florida AIDS Walk is the foundation’s annual walk and concert on Fort Lauderdale beach. Nonprofit video production at this scale is a coverage problem before it is a creative one, because the day happens once, at full capacity, and every position has to be assigned before the gates open. C&I Studios ran drone units to establish the size of the turnout, camera teams in the photo pit and backstage for the live performances, and roaming operators on the sand with the walkers and the speakers. Our event videography crews work this way on any single day shoot where nothing can be repeated.

Field Documentation in Haiti

Nonprofit video production changes character when the shoot leaves the country. In Haiti a small C&I Studios crew documented an AHF outreach event as it happened, working handheld and at eye level rather than staging anything. The finished film moves from the hillside above the community down into the streets, and then into the crowd waiting at the foundation’s tents. A second film, cut in black and white, is the shoot itself: the operators, the stills photographer, and the crowd of children who followed the cameras all day. Both were finished in house by our post production team.

A 360 Walkthrough of the Broward Wellness Center

The third project asked for something a conventional camera cannot deliver. The foundation wanted people to be able to see inside its Broward County wellness center before arriving, so C&I Studios captured the building in 360: reception, the waiting room, the corridors, the exam rooms, and the lab, all recorded in every direction at once. Nonprofit video production for healthcare facilities often has this requirement underneath it, which is that a space has to feel knowable before someone will walk into it. Our video production services cover 360 capture alongside conventional coverage.

How C&I Studios Crews a Nonprofit Shoot

The three assignments here needed three different crew shapes, and getting that call right is most of the job. A beach fundraiser needs a large team, licensed drone pilots, and redundant coverage on anything that only happens once, because there is no second take on a headline set or a speaker walking off stage. A field trip to Haiti needs the opposite: a crew small enough to move through a crowded street without becoming the event, carrying only what two people can hold. A 360 capture of a working clinic needs almost no crew at all, but it needs a rigging plan, because in a 360 frame there is nowhere for an operator or a light stand to hide. Scoping the crew to the work is what keeps a nonprofit budget on the screen instead of on the call sheet.

What Nonprofit Video Production Actually Requires

Nonprofit video production carries an obligation the average brand shoot does not, because the footage is of real people at real moments in their lives. Handled carelessly it reads as a fundraising asset. Handled properly it reads as a record of something that mattered to the people who were in it, which is also the version that raises money.
