Tennis Channel
When Legends Meet Premium Production
The Tennis Channel brought us on to handle production for two distinct but complementary projects: a podcast episode and an exclusive interview featuring boxing champion and sports commentator Laila Ali. The Tennis Channel’s commitment to diverse sports content meant creating programming that would resonate with audiences beyond traditional tennis fans.
We provided comprehensive video production services that captured both the intimate conversational nature of podcast recording and the polished presentation required for broadcast television. Our approach ensured seamless technical execution while allowing Ali’s natural charisma and insights to shine through.

Quality Podcast Production
Recording the podcast episode required balancing audio capture with visual storytelling for potential video distribution. We set up multiple camera angles to create dynamic coverage in the space. The lighting setup was warm and inviting, avoiding the harsh lighting while ensuring quality visual standards. Audio was crucial. We used multiple microphones and monitoring systems to capture clean dialogue while maintaining the natural rhythm of conversation.
Laila Ali
The interview segment demanded a different technical approach, focusing on polished presentation suitable for The Tennis Channel’s broadcast standards. We configured a more formal interview setup with carefully controlled lighting for Laila Ali. In this format, Ali felt comfortable sharing personal insights while ensuring every technical element remained professional.
The room was the opposite of the podcast set. Daylight, plants, a white sofa. No headphones, no mic in frame, nothing sitting between Ali and the lens. A boxer turned broadcaster talking about her own sport does not need help from production.
Throwbacks Podcast
Sinclair hired us to film Throwbacks for The Tennis Channel. The show is hosted by Jerry Ferrara, the actor from Entourage, and Matt Leinart, who played professional football. Episodes move between sports, pop culture, nostalgia and whoever they can get to sit across from them that week.
The shoot ran two days in Los Angeles. We covered the podcast multi camera on their set, the one with the Los Angeles neon behind the sofa, with a slider running so the coverage never sat locked off. All of it had to work twice over, once as a full episode and again as shorter clips, with no going back for pickups.
B roll came off both days so the edit had somewhere to cut. Two days is not much for a show that has to keep turning out episodes, so most of the job was making sure nothing needed a second pass.
