Product Photography

Ecommerce, lifestyle, and campaign images, lit and shot in our Los Angeles studio or on location.

What We Shoot

C&I Studios is a product photography studio that has been photographing products for brands since 2006. We light, shoot, and retouch product images in our 30,000 sq ft Los Angeles studio and on location, from clean white background shots for your store to styled sets, lifestyle scenes, and beauty campaigns with talent. Recent product photography includes BeatBot pool robots, Hubble eyewear and contact lenses, the KISS family of beauty brands, Premiere Creative bedding, and L.A. Colors cosmetics.

Ecommerce Product Photos

Marketplace Listing Images

A main image that meets the marketplace rules, then the secondary images that do the selling. Detail close ups, the product in use, and the features a buyer checks before adding to cart.

Lifestyle Photography

The product in a real kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, or backyard with talent using it. These are the images that let a buyer picture it in their own life.

Beauty & Model Photography

Cosmetics, hair care, skincare, and eyewear on real people. We cast talent from our own database and shoot on studio color cycs, so the product and the person both look right.

3D Product Renders

Photoreal renders for products that are still at the factory or hard to photograph. Built by our VFX and animation team and lit to match the photography from the same campaign.

Made to Sell the Product

A product photo has one job, and that is getting someone to buy. So we plan every shot list around the questions a buyer has before checkout. What does it look like up close, how big is it, what comes in the box, and how does it fit into their day. Those answers become the images, because a shopper scrolling a listing decides in a few seconds.

From Shot List to Final Image

  • 01 The BriefWe start with where the images will live. A marketplace listing, a product page, paid social, and a retail display each need different crops, backgrounds, and shot counts, so that gets settled first.
  • 02 PrepShip the product to our Los Angeles studio or we come to you. We handle props, surfaces, sets, talent, and locations, then send the shot list for your sign off.
  • 03 Shoot DayProducts that share a lighting setup get grouped, so one day can cover a whole line or every colorway of a single item. You can watch on set or review selects afterward.
  • 04 Retouch & DeliveryClean up, color matching across the set, and compositing for hero images, then every image exported at the size each platform asks for. Files are archived in Qubee, the media platform C&I Studios developed, so you can pull them again later.

Built Around Your Launch Date

Product photos usually come with a deadline attached, whether it is a launch, a new listing, or a holiday push. We plan backward from that date, lock the shot list early, and keep the shoot and retouching under one roof so nothing waits on another vendor. You review selects with time to give notes, and the final images land before the date you gave us.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the number of products, the number of finished images, whether there is talent in frame, and where the images will run. We quote a flat project price after a discovery call, split into creative, production, and usage so you can see what you are paying for. Our guide to brand photography cost breaks down how those numbers work.

Yes, and it is the most efficient way to build out a catalog. We group products that share a lighting setup, so one day can cover a whole product line or every colorway of a single item.

No. Many clients ship the product, approve the shot list, and review selects after the shoot. You are always welcome on set in Los Angeles if you want to be there.

Yes. We deliver a main image that meets each marketplace’s requirements, plus the secondary detail, lifestyle, and scale images, all from the same shoot. Our guide to Shopify product photos covers what performs on a product page.

Yes. Retouching is done in house by the same team, from clean up and color matching across a set to compositing hero images. We agree on the number of finished images before the shoot so the post budget is clear from day one.

Yes, and it usually costs less than booking two productions. Stills and motion share the lighting, the set, and the talent. On the BeatBot launch we delivered three films and roughly sixty edited stills from a single day. See our product video production page for the video side.

Yes. Our crews shoot in factories, warehouses, retail stores, and homes across the US, and we travel for international work.

A product photography studio plans, lights, shoots, and retouches images that sell a physical product. C&I Studios handles it under one roof in Los Angeles, from the brief and shot list through styling, talent, photography, 3D renders, retouching, and delivery for ecommerce, marketplaces, and ads.

Tell Us About Your Project

Tell us what you are selling and where the images need to run, and we will tell you what it takes. Styling, crew, studio, lighting, and retouching all come from the same team, so a product never gets handed between vendors halfway through.

Whether it is one hero image or a full catalog, start with a conversation and we will scope it end to end.
