A woman who is utterly, completely, and unapologetically herself, who is not afraid to stand up, stand out, be heard, be seen. On her terms. 5. A woman or a person who expresses and dresses in a way that feels authentic to her without worrying about what other people might say. 6. Is damn ok with who they are. 7. Not a phase. 8. You? 9. Me.
To market a rebellious brand like TomboyX we decided to disrupt the consumers’ expectations of fashion in advertising. We wanted to deliver a lasting piece of media that was completely unique and genuine to the TomboyX culture. To achieve this, we fused typography, graphic design, movement, and poetry.
The TomboyX brand is all about freedom. Their audience simply doesn’t like being told what to do. This made writing a commercial especially difficult. We couldn’t force or sugar-coat our message less risk our audience responding negatively. Additionally, we had to target a specific audience without labeling the individuals within that demographic. We dug deep into their brand, uncovering key elements that we felt personified TomboyX, not the people who wear it. This was a crucial step in the scriptwriting process and really allowed us to construct a voice that truly represents their core values. During the visual stage, we used the X as rhetorical support, which helped translate emotions and perceptions we otherwise would not have been able to describe.
The TomboyX brand uses a chaotic series of patterns, colors, imagery, and bold language to represent the various voices of their community. Their message is sharp and immutable. It is many voices melded into one. Because of that, it was important to consolidate all the different identities within the TomboyX community – power, freedom, love, and individuality – as if they were a unified voice.
We used the X in TomboyX as an added source of visual and spoken communication, as well as an outlier for movement, structure and a spot to focus the eye during quick camera transitions. Rhetorically, the X represents the dichotomy of society and culture: acceptance and denial. Structural, the X is a statement: a stamp of rebellion and unity.
We used X as a means of cancellation. By eliminating judgemental labels at the beginning of the video we show our audience that they can be accepting of others by being bold in the face of false stereotypes. Next, we used X as a means of empowerment. We found it essential that the TomboyX brand has a strong, inspirational voice to propel the power of the individual. Showing that we are strong in the face of oppression established greater trust between the brand and the consumer. This trust equipped inspirational language with added sincerity.
The X is the focus on the screen and allows us to say multiple messages at the same time without diluting or distracting from the others. This adds depth to the brand. We tucked a personal testimonial into the upright crevice of the X to spotlight the positivity of the TomboyX agenda: be yourself. When reading the testimonial, consumers can apply it to the changing portraits above, and (possibly) to themselves. That connection is what converts audiences into loyal consumers.

While both of these brands are awesome for any style, season, or location, we wanted to compile a look that really shows off that SOCAL lifestyle.
We were psyched to be able to add in a SOCAL ‘native’, Infinity Surfboards based right in Dana Point, CA to the shoot to really help capture that reality.
Shooting for brands like Lululemon and Ivivva requires a production team that understands how to translate an athletic lifestyle into compelling imagery. Our approach for this lookbook centered on natural light and real locations rather than studio setups, allowing the clothing to speak for itself against the Southern California coastline. This is part of a couple of advertising campaigns we worked on for Taylor Adair Swim, a brand of hand crafted swimwear made locally in South Florida.
We took the shoot to the beach and captured several shots during the day to show the multifaceted nature of the brand as well as the unique magic that only exists in our South Florida beaches.
We wanted the campaigns to be cohesive and seamless with one another. We wanted to show the different aspects of the garments with differing sides of the beach. The idea is to present with a video a particular point of view.
Taylor Adair prides themselves in having a multifaceted brand with looks for every occasion and every personality. By handcrafting each suit they make, they manage to really make every piece its own.
Shooting a swimwear campaign on the beach in South Florida comes with its own set of challenges, from shifting natural light to unpredictable weather. C&I Studios planned each session around optimal lighting windows and scouted multiple beach locations to find backdrops that complemented the garments without competing for attention. Our team produced several video assets across the campaigns, each one designed to feel cohesive with the others while showcasing a distinct mood and setting. Nicole Mejia has been a lifelong proponent of an active, healthy lifestyle for everyone. Her belief is predicated on the idea that fitness should be approached as a holistic part of life whereby the goal isn’t an aesthetic one, but instead, one that maintains your natural figure and flaunts the unique nature of your curves.
When Nicole began a career in modeling, an active lifestyle closely followed. She soon realized, however, that her passions laid stronger in the worlds of fitness and health and quickly shifted her focus.

Lilac & Lilies Boutique is a local clothing boutique in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We shot this advertisement to serve as preview for the nearby movie theaters. We tried to capture the quick, trendy, and aloof feel of the store itself.
Opening her doors in 2009, Michelle DiMarco began Lilac & Lilies with the vision of providing ladies of any age and lifestyle with a closet filled with her favorite designer brands.
DiMarco has 15 years of experience in the fashion industries and applies her talents and passion by changing the experiences of anyone that steps foot in her store.
The advertisement was crafted for a cinema pre-roll format, which required sharp pacing and an immediate visual hook. We used dynamic camera movement and quick cuts to mirror the experience of browsing the boutique, letting the clothing and accessories take center stage. The color grading was kept warm and inviting, matching the store’s aesthetic and the Las Olas neighborhood where it sits.

Located on the east end of Las Olas Blvd in Fort Lauderdale, the Archives sells newly released, exclusive and limited edition sneakers, apparel and accessories.
The teaser campaign was designed to build anticipation around the boutique’s grand opening. We crafted a visual identity that matched the store’s premium positioning: sharp edits, moody lighting, and tight shots that put the product front and center. Each piece of content was built to perform on social platforms and drive foot traffic to Las Olas.

Men’s Wearhouse commissioned this shoot in order to showcase part of their Spring line a few years ago.
With lookbooks, the idea is to present the garments forming part of the line in question being used as they’d be worn on a daily basis. Ideally, a lookbook will show the brand’s customers the overall look and concept behind that specific seasons final product.
For the Men’s Wearhouse Spring line, we wanted to convey the classic elegance the clothing obviously exudes, while juxtaposing it with a contemporary youth.
The shoot took place across several locations throughout South Florida, pairing tailored suits and smart-casual pieces with settings that felt lived-in and genuine. Our production team focused on natural lighting and candid movement to let the garments speak for themselves. Rather than a stiff catalog approach, we wanted viewers to see how these clothes fit into real moments: stepping out of a car, walking through a courtyard, catching the afternoon light.

For this particular shoot we used our RED Monster and Komodo cameras to ensure the capture of high-quality imagery to really narrow-in on the detail of the product – in this case, footwear.
