University of Miami - Hillel

When Hillel at the University of Miami contacted us needing a new video for fundraising, we jumped at the chance to create something special for them. After interviewing students and getting an understanding of the organization’s mission, we crafted a heartfelt video that truly captures the essence of Hillel at UM. The video highlights student testimonials, footage from the campus and Braman Miller Center for Jewish Life, and an overall atmosphere that showcases the vibrant culture.

This project allowed us to utilize both natural light and professional lighting to create a mood that perfectly reflects the positive energy of Hillel at UM. We also made sure to incorporate advanced post-production techniques, such as motion graphics and color correction, for a professional look and feel. The result is a video that captures the essence of Hillel’s mission and brings it to life in an engaging and powerful way.

Florida Quality Roofing

Giving a family-owned business the means to expand their market.

Florida Quality Roofing has been in business since 2002, and even before that their roots dug deep into roofing craftsmanship. When the family business was passed down to the next generation, the new president and vice president contacted us to modernize their brand.

They were lacking quality media content and had an outdated website that needed improved functionality. After learning their business goals, we got to work creating a new website built to enhance conversions and house their new media content, of which client testimonials were a major part. Of the many services we provided, the following were the most crucial to their business:

  • Video Production
  • Website Design and Development
  • Marketing

A complete website overhaul was the most essential aspect of modernizing Florida Quality Roofing. It guided content generation and provided deep insights on what else was needed to get the job done.

COVID-19 Business Update

Navigating uncertain times with class.

The novel coronavirus outbreak in the U.S. put many businesses in a hard place. Profits shrunk overnight, existing client work was postponed or vanished entirely, and businesses’ ability to conduct their normal services was greatly limited in an effort to flatten the curve.

Florida Quality Roofing was not immune to this massive economic shift. However, unlike most businesses, they did not roll over and wait for this period of uncertainty to pass us by.

Rather, they adapted to the situation and enlisted our video production services to inform their clientele of the safety measures being employed companywide and their continued ability to provide 5-star roofing maintenance and replacement despite the circumstances.

Proactive business strategies such as this are the most effective way of capitalizing on the economic uptick once the time. Even though this is a rather simple message, it reassured Florida Quality Roofing’s clientele and reinforced their dedication to the community. By remaining vocal and present they put their business in a good position to capture to convert clients and improve lead generation.

Moss Construction

Moss Construction’s dedication to excellence and transparency has made them a household name in the construction industry.

Their honest, intelligent, and thoughtful approach to business are all distinguishing characteristics that have led to them being one of the most recognizable construction firms in operation. Their work philosophy combined with their collection of sustainable, award-winning buildings has grown their company into one of the largest in the industry.

The Moss team spans the entire United States with offices in Hawaii, California, Texas, and Florida. And that is who we were hired to highlight. When Moss Construction approached us, they asked for two videos:

  1. to showcase their award-winning buildings
  2. to spotlight their outstanding company culture

When spotlighting their company culture, we chose to inject a bit of humor into the piece. This was a key element in showing the human factor in their business and the many unique personalities that contribute to their ongoing mission. As a whole, this video sheds light on the outstanding people at the helm of their business, as well as the scope of their influence.

These videos were originally revealed at Moss Construction’s annual company retreat in dedication to all of their employees, but remain a valuable asset for their branding and marketing.

Koya Bay

Rendering of a building with people walking outside by the water's edge

Macken Companies

Macken Companies approached C&I Studios about commissioning a video for a luxury waterfront townhome community they were creating in North Miami Beach. They wanted something creative that would convey the lifestyle possibilities latent within their newest residential real estate development: Koya Bay.

The purpose was to create a video that would build intrigue about their upcoming project. Our task was to create a commercial to advertise the homes of Koya Bay to the general public and potential buyers. The only trouble was, the homes of Koya Bay—a series of ten four-level townhomes situated on the water The Isle of Eastern Shores—had yet to be built.

Showcasing the Dream

A major challenge for this production was that there was no physical building to work film. To circumvent this, our team of professionals turned to other options to focus on. 3D renders. Clever cutaways. The surrounding area. The lifestyle possibilities. The conveniences and pleasures offered by a modern habitat. By doing this, we were able to capture the essence of the environment in lieu of showing it physically.

We wanted the imagery to be indicative of luxury and water-side living, elevated living. Wine, cheese platters, jet skis, sunsets, day beds, bikinis, beaches, and yachts. A world of possibilities for the viewer to inhabit in their imaginations. Our pre-production team expertly secured access to these items which helped take production to the next level.

A One-Day Shoot

First we began with a script.

We live for creativity, but we never allow our own visions to alter the integrity of our client’s brand; our job is to help them speak in the most effective way possible. We were sure in developing this script to receive the approval of both Alan, the owner of Koya Boy, and his sister Jodi, in charge of sales for the development. In fact, their input was imperative to us.

Once we had the green-light, we were flat out scouting talent and locations that would unify the script and bring it to life on screen, laying out the schedule for what would be an impossibly quick turnaround—the rough shots for this entire branding video were to be caught over the span of a one-day shoot.

With a crew call of 5:30am, we hit the ground running. A director, a lighting crew, and cinematographers toting two cinema-grade RED 8k cameras, staged interviews with Alan and Jodi to give the video a personal touch.

We captured b-roll of the talent; men and women looking out of windows, gazing up at their property with pleasure, drinking champagne on a balcony, enjoying the sun on the beach or jumping into a pool underwater.

We caught fly-over drone footage of the beach, the tropical coastline, the marina, to really hone-in on the location—it being perhaps one of the most important factors in the real estate business.

All of it, caught in just one day.

When it was over, when the cameras stopped rolling and the talent was wrapped, the day finished—our job was not. Editing came next. Cutting and splicing raw footage in DaVinci to create a narrative. We overlaid the final cut with the voice of our narrator, and color-graded the imagery and leveled the sound until it was perfect. A complete and compelling dream.

Our final delivery on this project was one 15 second video, one 60 second video, and a total of 30 still images for our client to use as promotional content for their development.

We like to highlight that such images were lifted from rough edits and then color graded. The reason for pointing this out is that frame-grabs so in fact live up to the standard of professional photography. In this case, the high-resolution of our RED cameras allowed us to capture a whopping eight-thousand pixels per frame. That’s why the quality of these photographs are so crisp, so cinematic—indistinguishable, you might say, from those caught on a traditional photo camera.

Connecting Stantec Personnel From Around the Globe

The video live stream event that we filmed and broadcast for Stantec was used to connect team members residing in New York and London, as well as online. This interactive live streaming event allowed leadership to share newly published data and research findings pertaining to their profession, so each office could continue to guide their clients with modern insights.

The ability to connect all major Stantec employees via live video conference greatly enhanced their team’s ability to be involved in real-time decision making. With our live audio services included, Stantec was given the freedom to communicate with flawless quality, ultimately, elevating this engagement from a conference to an insightful conversation that produced real results. Furthermore, this significantly reduced the costs associated with bringing a global team together under one roof.

Elevating Engagement Across Borders

Stantec’s World Cities Day Technical Workshop was the largest video and audio live streaming gathering for their company to date. The success of this event marked a turning point in how their company will communicate moving forward—something our team is very proud to have been a part of.

Now that they have the option to bring their team together flawlessly and with little to no disruption to daily productivity, they can increase the frequency of these company-wide gatherings. This is a great asset to their business as they will be better equipped to share insights once they become available, as well as keep their team focused on a common goal: improving the quality of life for communities around the globe.

Hollywood Community Housing Corporation

TRANSFORMING COMMUNITIES | TRANSFORMING LIVES

Hollywood Community Housing Corporation is solving the Los Angeles housing crisis by providing communities with affordable housing, enrichment opportunities, and supportive services.

Perspective is the root to their success in tackling this crisis. Rather than look at communities and decide their needs they look to communities for guidance. They don’t make assumptions. They speak to the people, learn their hardships and their greatest needs, then deliver the means for them to overcome their greatest obstacles.

We believe that outreach that provides people the tools and insights to create change for themselves produce the greatest results. We appreciate everything that Hollywood Community Housing Corporation is doing for the city of Los Angeles. When they came to us to create their company branding video — to showcase their mission, ideology, and promise for the future — we were all in!

A major focus of the video is explaining how their organization works for the people of L.A. By showing how their leadership works alongside those who are vulnerable, yet driven to improve their lives and their communities, we created a video that is equal parts community, results-driven, uplifting, and optimistic. It is a showcase of their passion, determination, legacy, and vision… and that carries immense weight.

Hollywood Community Housing Marketing Booklet

Our company profile video conditions viewers to invest in the HCH mission.

Brand storytelling is effective because it is emotional (and humans are creatures of emotion).

The effectiveness of our marketing booklet was dependent on the impact of our company profile video, which is featured on the homepage of the Hollywood Community Housing website. This video is the showcase and comprehensive overview of their mission. But it is not rigid, boring, or stuffy. It focuses on people, positive change, progress, and a selfless determination to empower those in hard times. These messages resonate with a lot of people, but especially with Hollywood Community Housing’s target demographics.

To generate the best results, we were created a marketing booklet to be distributed alongside the premier of Hollywood Community Housing’s company video. The marketing booklet shows a different side of the same mission. It gets into the numbers and the facts, informing our audience of the crisis, the longterm downside if it doesn’t get solved, and the strides that HCH is making to change Los Angele’s housing landscape.

Lennox Heating & Cooling

Lennox Heating & Cooling is a nationally recognized HVAC system supplier that installs, maintains, and optimizes residential and commercial heating and cooling systems. Their philosophy, Air is life. Make it Perfect. is the guiding principle that has encouraged their company to lead innovation in their industry. They have earned widespread recognition for their award-winning designs in sustainability, outstanding achievements nationwide, and environmentally conscious behavior.

Their track-record is evidence that they are fulfilling their mission of improving energy efficiency for households and businesses throughout the nation. Though their brand is a household name, their success and determination are not widely known. They came to us to create a video that would highlight their crowning achievements and show their path to the future.

Lennox’s Year In Review video details their company’s growth and informs the general public (and their shareholders) on how they will better serve the nation. By showcasing their 2019 financial results and business growth, we were able to point a foot towards the future. Ultimately, this maneuver serves to excite audiences and prove that Lennox is not only the leading voice in their industry, but the true authority on heating and cooling within the contexts of sustainability and innovation.

A Practice In Building Culture

The Whatever It Takes Safely award winner commemoration video

Regardless of Lennox’s immense size and recent growth, they remain a tight-knit group. Their company culture is traditional in that each district’s employees know one another; corporate leadership knows their managers; the managers know their team; and the team members are good friends. To showcase these rare connections and their unbridled teamwork, Lennox asked us to create a video commemorating this year’s winner.

This award goes to employees who work hard every day to assist the company in ways that improve their overall mission. This is not a fancy title given for the sake of publicity. No, this is a true accolade that proves the recipient is a valued member of the team and a major earner. Beyond showcasing individual growth, a Whatever It Takes Safely award winner must also prove that they encourage their peers to better themselves. He or she must show leadership — leading only by example, not command.

Creating such a compassionate video to be shared within the company goes beyond team-building and comradery. It gives their Year In Review video credence. Overall, this will encourage employees to perform beyond their standard responsibilities, which is what the Year In Review video essentially promises.

Glavovic Studio

White Glavovic Studio Architecture Art & Urban Design logo

Glavovic Studio

Glavovic Studio is an architecture, art, and urban design firm based in Fort Lauderdale. Their architectural contributions and unwavering commitment to designs that benefit both people and place have taken their influence internationally. Glavovic Studio has been published in more than 30 national and international publications and has won dozens of design awards since its founding, including multiple awards from the Urban Land Institute and the United States Green Building Council.

Despite their prestige and farreaching success, Glavovic Studio’s brand image had fallen out of sync with their name and what they represent. So, they came to us to reimagine their consumer-facing facade. When they hired us, their website was severely outdated. They had very little content, and that which they did possess was lacking conviction and quality.

After getting to know Margi Nothard, the founder, CEO, and lead designer at Glavovic Studio, we knew exactly how we would restyle their brand. This would ultimately call for a complete, top-to-bottom overhaul, a brand new website, video storytelling, professional photography, and a 12-month marketing strategy to back it up.

Side profile of three men and three women posing for the camera with the sun shining on them
Group of four men and three women posing for camera with yellow wall in background

Reimagining Glavovic

Perhaps the most needed service to Glavovic Studio’s rebranding was the design and development of a new website. Their former site was lacking in key areas, which dampened the user experience and, ultimately, weakened their first impression. The categorization of information was confusing. The structure of the site made it difficult to maneuver between important pages. The design did not match the studios potential as a design firm. And they were not showcasing their work in the best possible way.

We learned a lot during the website redevelopment phase, including the type of content that Glavovic Studio was missing and would benefit from most. This predominantly included video production and professional photography. The combination of the two would create a unified brushstroke, showing the commitment and integrity behind each Glavovic Studio design.

Ultimately, this decided what Glavovic Studio’s new consumer-facing gateway would look like. Their audience would immediately be able to identify a shift in the quality of the content and the storytelling therein. No matter where their audience would first interact with this new grade of media, they would learn that it is just a small piece in a fullscale rebranding initiative. That was our goal and our success.

Glavovic Studio Project Showcases

Glavovic Studio’s former website was lacking in pivotal areas but none more so than their portfolio. They were not showcasing their work properly. Aside from lackluster descriptions, they failed to include any decent media. Rather than showcase finished products in their natural environment, they used renderings that were created at the start of the endeavor. This was artificial — a stylistic approach that failed to connect with readers.

To remedy this, we brought their portfolio to life with real, crisp, authentic and informative media. This is where the bond between professional photography and video production shined brightest. Our video showcases of their work, such as this case study on The Mending Wall at the Boca Raton Museum of Art (left), explain the inspiration behind each project, the practical application, and the longterm benefits. They connect Glavovic Studio’s artwork, urban design, and architecture to a time and place. This would ultimately lay the new foundation for their brand’s narrative.

The video showcases often inform on the people and institutions that benefit from Glavovic Studio’s design. Whereas, the photographs highlight the artistic nuances. They are hyper-focused yet silent, which allows the viewer to invent their own interpretations. Together, they paint a detailed picture of each project.

Social Responsibility

A major part of Glavovic Studio’s ethos is their willingness and passion for helping those in need. They prize architecture that benefits the working class above all else. With Margi Nothard at the helm, they have spearheaded nationwide initiatives, such as the affordable housing campaign with AHF (featured left). Margi’s unwavering social responsibility has both guided Glavovic’s ever-evolving mission and been the catalyst to new architectural frontiers.

As is stated in their mission statement, “The studio explores architecture engaged in environmental stewardship and social value…” This phrase resonated with us. Given that this is one the areas Glavovic Studio would never compromise, we knew it needed to be a guiding theme to their new brand narrative. Their mission to use architecture and urban design for good is now at the forefront.

Douglas Elliman Development Marketing

Douglas Elliman Development Marketing draws upon decades of experience and market-specific knowledge to promote world-class properties to global audiences in over 60 countries. They collaborate with leading developers, world-renowned architects, and interior designers to create the most coveted properties in the most attractive markets.

Their presence has become a hallmark to burgeoning cityscapes. If Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is showcasing a new property in your city, it means that your city is in the international spotlight. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing hired us to film their showcase of this ultra-modern residence in Fort Lauderdale.

To fully sell the luxury of this property, we needed to showcase the flawless appliances, sightlines, and amenities. One of the core challenges we encountered in this production was showing the function of an appliance, like a rainfall shower faucet, without having anyone in the shot. This required some skills of the trade. It’s not easy filming a shower faucet turning on without having anyone in the shot. But we made it work flawlessly. Ultimately, this property showcase embodies a true sense of luxury, which draws the viewer in and makes them fantasize about living in this particular residence. This is exactly what Douglas Elliman asked us to provide.

Bahia Mar is a staple of Fort Lauderdale, and is about to evolve into something even greater.

Soon to be home to resorts, luxury condos, restaurants, and businesses, our goal was to showcase the future of this community and its many facets.

By combining carefully shot and curated video footage, 3D motion graphics and renderings, voice overs, and drone work, this Bahia Mar video was born.

The betterment of Fort Lauderdale is something that we’ve always been passionate about, and we knew it would take the merging of these many forms of media to show the power of this project.

A Massive Branding Campaign

EDSA has a long-standing reputation as a beacon of progress, conscionable professionalism and innovation.

The leaders at EDSA came to us to repackage the legacy of their prestigious brand with a contemporary aesthetic. Our branding concepts were purposed to show how EDSA’s thought leadership continues to motive designers across industries while inspiring thoughtful environmental awareness in people and communities worldwide.

The magnitude of EDSA’s legacy demanded a full scale multimedia combination of photography, video production, graphic design, and web development. All of these services had to tell a single story. We had our work cut our for us.

A look inside the rebranding process.
Photography

EDSA is such a large, expansive brand that the fine details which make their company so unique can be smothered by what seems like a never-ending wave of media. Our mission was to create a stream of evergreen content that would serve EDSA’s ongoing mission even as their business continues to grow and evolve. Rather than create photography that supports EDSA’s story, we created photography that tells a more specific tale — that of the designer, the emotional stimuli in each design project, and the functionality of people and place. The biggest challenge was telling a single story through so many different human and landscape portraits.

Portraits of EDSA Principals

We focused on highlighting the small, important details. When photographing EDSA profiles we integrated the setting to fully capture the pioneering mentality of each designer and principal. We chose to showcase them in their natural habitat surrounded by the literature that inspires their work.

This storytelling mechanic demanded that we take the time to learn about their passions and their motivation. Getting to know each subject added a lot of value to each photograph. It allowed our photographers to empathize with their creativity and their passions, which positively reflected in the quality of each headshot. Every photoshoot began with a 5-minute conversation, and from there we were able to truly highlight the personality of each EDSA principal.

Visual Narratives Drives EDSA's Story

Producing a consistent and effective narrative that would highlight the magnitude of the EDSA brand was a huge task.

Our video production strategy needed to show how EDSA’s many successes birthed such a deeply ingrained company culture — one that has elevated continuously over the last 100 years. Not only did we have to identify the key elements that make their brand so unique, but we also had to translate those values to external audiences as well as long-standing EDSA employees.

Moreover, the various stories we were telling needed to connect into a grand, wholesome narrative. The biggest challenge here was capturing the fire and energy of a brand that has dominated the market for the past 100 years in a 2-minute video.

Inside The Design Studio

When filming EDSA’s video profiles it was essential that we take audience preferences into consideration.

Our content needed to be eye-catching and motivational — a conduit of inspiration to students and industry professionals alike. Simultaneously, the style and language needed to remain consistent with EDSA’s professionalism. That was our recipe for delivering powerful content and producing effective results regardless of the viewer.

To external audiences, EDSA is a pioneering force shaping humanity’s connection to time and place through amazing design concepts. To the internal audience — the EDSA employee and principal — EDSA is a lifestyle. In that, their brand exceeds their industry. EDSA represents more than just landscape architecture. Our video series weaved in these important brand elements, ultimately appealing to various audiences without segregating or alienating any of our readers.

The EDSA Website

With so many offices in so many major cities across the world, the EDSA website needed to inform audiences on their far-reaching global presence. Their longstanding history provided a library of content which was both restricting and liberating. Though there was no shortage of media there were limitations on what webpages they could live on and how we could connect all these areas of focus seamlessly. Segmenting EDSA principles concerning planning, landscape architecture, and urban design while showing how these practices come together to facilitate each project was crucial in establishing the professional nature and magnitude of EDSA’s global mission.

Tavistock Development values architecture that enriches local communities in familiar, yet excitingly new ways. They are currently restoring the iconic Pier Sixty-Six Hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Since its opening in 1965, the Pier Sixty-Six Hotel has remained a beacon of Fort Lauderdale living. With outstanding dining, nightlife and residential experiences it has been – and will continue to be – the “Social Harbor of Fort Lauderdale.”

However, as the city continues to experience widespread development throughout the downtown sphere it has become increasingly important to assure locals and natives that the essence of Fort Lauderdale remains intact.

They commissioned us to design and film a branding video that demonstrates this unflinching passion. Our vision was an emotive documentary showcase, spotlighting the life and legacy of Pier Sixty-Six, and the rich heritage attached to its name. In that, we sought to create a branding video that tells of a vibrant new future by highlight an equally colorful history.

The Challenge

Pier Sixty-Six has been a beacon of Fort Lauderdale for over 50 years. In a way, it is synonymous with the local, beach-centric lifestyle. Because of this, we had to celebrate the past in order to successfully point towards the future. This was very important as some locals feel that ongoing development may dilute Fort Lauderdale’s rich heritage. Tavistock Development company thinks differently. That is what we needed to show our audience.

Tavistock Development Company truly believes that no memories of the Pier Sixty-Six will be lost with the restoration. Rather, new memories will be created – valuable memories that will be cherished by future generations just as we are doing so today.

Our message is this:

“Welcome the History. Welcome the Future. Welcome Home.”

Grycon is one of the premier builders in Fort Lauderdale, and they recently constructed a beautiful gym at Nova Southeastern University. We were excited to get out there and get some evening shots, as well as some drone shots of the gym. These images show off the pristine construction of the building, but if you show up any normal day of the week, you’ll find it packed with students working out and improving their fitness.

It’s a fun exercise in creativity to imbue an abstract idea with a grounded aesthetic. Working in unison with United General Building, we have managed to give life to the blueprints, turning them to illustrious renderings depicting the future vitality of the homes they’ll soon inhabit in our neighborhood of Victoria Park, FL.

These experiences allow us to explore the furthest reaches of our #uncreativity, while allowing us to add our grain of sand to our ever-growing community.
